Nigerian singer Iyanya has been granted a bail of N20m for alleged car theft

The singer was granted bail by Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu-Ighile on February 27

Justice Mobolanle also ordered him to produce a surety in like sum

This comes a few weeks after the singer being charged with car theft by the police

Okikiolu-Ighile also ordered him to produce a surety in like sum. He further specified that the surety must have a landed property in Lagos, with a Certificate of Occupancy. Iyanya was also given 7 days to fulfill the term or risk it being revoked.

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile concluded that the ‘Kukere’ crooner does have a case to answer regarding the allegations.

Justice Okikiola Ighile: “I have perused the affidavit and counter-affidavit of the parties; there is a prima facie case of criminal conversion case against him. There is nothing to show that the defendant will interfere with the proceedings of the case and nothing to show that he will jump bail if granted

Iyanya was arraigned before the court after he was accused of stealing a Toyota LandCruiser Prado SUV belonging to the Temple Management Company, which he was previously signed to.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges
